Welcome to the Dave Cary wiki.

I've decided to move some of my static web pages to a Wiki.
So my question is: Which Wiki ?

So far I've come to the conclusion:

But which wiki do I put stuff about other topics I'm interested in:
?

Since I started this list, many wiki have fulfilled my wishes, making my list of "no wiki for this topic yet" smaller and smaller.

I see that LionKimbro says
"ask for a wiki on your favorite subject, and you'll almost certainly have it."

I started out making static web pages that only I (and, in theory, my sysadmin) could change.

Then I discovered that I could let other people immediately comment on my pages at
http://massmind.org/techref/member/DAV-MP-E62a/index.htm

Then I was really impressed by a couple of Wikis --
I think the event that really made me say "cool" was
seeing some minor mispelling in an otherwise excellent page,
so I simply hit "edit" and fixed it. Simple.

Simple, yet it fulfills an ancient prediction:
"we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away." -- http://bible.gospelcom.net/cgi-bin/bible?passage=1COR+13:9-10

I have a few static web pages with notes begging people to email me information about parts where my knowlege is sketchy. I've decided that these would do better as a Wiki page. People can help improve the page and get immediate feedback, rather than emailing me and taking days/weeks before they see their suggestions implemented.

I just need to decide which Wiki is the appropriate one for each page. (EditHint: Suggestions ?). Meanwhile, they're still collecting dust at http://rdrop.com/~cary/
until I have time to move them.

It would be great if other people could fix the glaring errors and 404 links on my pages ...

Still, the idea of spending hours polishing a web page, and then giving *everyone* the ability to add and delete from it, still gives my stomach butterflies.

(FIXME: add the above wiki to the InterWiki)
