When logging in, sometimes you get the message
"User name must be WikiName formatted!".

Your "wiki name" is much like your regular name.
Both have a first name and a last name, with the first letter of each name capitalized.
The only difference is that your "wiki name" has both names squished together, without any spaces.

I think that's all you need to know to get started.

More details about the idea of "wiki name" that might be helpful if you want to create pages.

Every page on this wiki has a name.

A few pages here (such as the page DavidCary) are named after a person.
Those are "name pages".

Other pages are named after some topic or category of things.
(see
Wiki:WikiName , Wiki:WikiWord, Wiki:LinkPattern,
Wiki:WikiNameAdvantages
Wikka:WikiName
).

If you want to create a page about an entire category of things,
for example "electronic projects",
please name the page in the singular form (without the s on the end): ElectronicProject.
That way we can refer to it later in both the singular and the plural form:
"An ElectronicProject", also "these ElectronicProjects".

Try to keep page names short.

"Always, always, always use good, unabbreviated, correctly-spelled meaningful names."
-- Wiki:MeaningfulName

How do I block the wiki software from turning words like MacGuffin into links when I don't want it to? is there a better way than MacGuffin ?
